The Opel Corsa is a super-mini car engineered and produced by Opel, the German manufacturer since 1982. Has also been sold under a variety of other brands and also lead to different products in different markets. Its current fourth-generation construction in Spain and Germany. However, despite its global presence, it has never been sold in the United States or Canada. Front-wheel Opel Corsa was first launched in September 1982. Built in Spain and Zaragoza the first Corsas were three-door hatchback and two-door sedan model, and door and four-door five versions arriving in 1984. In mainland Europe, versions of the sedan known as the “Corsa Tr” until May 1985. the basic model was called just the Corsa, which was followed by the Corsa Oxus, Corsa Berlin and the sporty Corsa SR. 6 years later, the Opel Corsa received a facelift, including a new fascia front and some other small changes. The models were called LS, GL, GLS and GT.

The Opel Corsa A was rebadged as the Nova Vauxhall between 1983 and 1993 for British market. It Vauxhall Chevette. All kinds of Nova made in Spain, with the first British customers taking delivery of their cars in April 1983. It gave Vauxhall we needed a very modern UK supermini market, as the Chevette was older than most of its competitors, mainly the Ford Fiesta and Austin Metro.

Opel Corsa Facelift

The Opel Corsa boasts a new gasoline and diesel engine line-up that fully complies with Euro 5 standards. Ride and handling also improved. The Opel Corsa Engines were further improved from 2011 as Start / Stop was added to engines, with all engines expecting to get the technology in the future. In November 2010, a facelift was announced. A revised front end was a big difference over its predecessor, including a new grille, restyled front bumper and new headlamps ‘Eagle Eye’ (introduced on the Insignia) consisting of daytime running lights standard across the refreshed Corsa range. (Vauxhall versions benefit from the latest 2008 Vauxhall badge on the front grille, grille and steering wheel). A new ‘Touch and Connect’ multimedia system from Bosch will be available as an option on certain Corsas, replacing CD60 unit, alloy wheels are better on SXI, SE and the IOPC / VXR versions. Production is tipped to end in 2014, with nominal Adam Corsa E due for release. In July 2014, Opel began a major facelift inspired by Adam Opel styling.

Opel Corsa Engine

The Opel Corsa C was introduced with 1.7 L DTI Ecotec turbodiesel engine supplied by Isuzu (Circle L) with 75 hp (55 kW). This later the 1.7 L DI Ecotec turbodiesel engine also supplied by Isuzu. The 1.7 L DI Ecotec did not include an intercooler and this power into a 65 PS (48 kW).  From 2003 a new 1.3 L CDTI Ecotec turbodiesel engine was supplied by Fiat (MultiJet) which produced 70 PS (51 kW) and 1.7 L CDTI Ecotec turbodiesel was supplied by Isuzu which produced 100 PS (74 kW). This new 1.7 L CDTI Ecotec featured a variable geometry turbocharger.

The 1.0 L and 1.2 L Ecotec Family 0 engines are carry-Savers from the Corsa B; the 1.4 L Family 1 engine was a new 1.4 L Family 0 model. The 1.8 L Family 1 engine is an upgrade for the previous 1.6 L 16-valve engine and produces 125 PS (92 kW) and 165 N · m (122 LB · ft) of torque. And 1.8 L engine was named Corsa GSi and was the predecessor of the new Corsa IOPC. In 2003, Opel introduced new versions of Family 0 engines and TwinPort and technology, and the 1.2 L engine gained 30 cc giving 80 PS (59 kW).

Opel Corsa Performance

The engine is the same 1.6-liter Turbo, but has been tuned to punch out 210 PS (154 kW, 207 hp) and 250 NM of torque at 2,250 to 5,850 rpm. 0-100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds and top speed is 230 km/h (143 Mph). Improvements include Brembo bind packages, ABS recalibrated, traction stability management system, Remus exhaust, and mechanical slip any difference in this part of the vehicle has a Mini Cooper JCW only.  The Opel Corsa comes with standard 18 inch wheels alloy and low profile tires, lowered suspension, two-tipped Stainless-steel exhaust and special Nurburgring badge at B-pillars and the inside of the gear handle and instrument dials. Also included is a new spoilers front, and a range of back bumper guards. Opel Corsa is available in Henna Red, grasshopper Green, Graphite Black and Casablanca White.

Opel Corsa Hybrid

At the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, Opel Corsa introduces the Opel Corsa Hybrid Concept, a Coupe which is the first helicopter and the alternator belt with lithium-ion battery.
