The 2014 Honda Accord Sedan is the default choice for a midsize sedan. An adjustment EX-L brings leather seats, camera-based collision warning and lane departure, rear-view camera multi-angle, a system without premium audio brand, power passenger seat, memory for the driver’s seat and the option of V6 engine. Those V6-powered EX-Ls add LED daytime running lights and dual exhaust. Navigation is optional on EX-L models, regardless of engine. Topping the range is the Touring, which adds the adaptive cruise control and full LED headlights. Newly available as a dealer-installed option is a package that fully integrates Apple’s virtual assistant Siri with the Accord.

Using the new Apple Eyes Free mode, drivers can access Siri Accord through your iPhone without taking your eyes off the road or hands off the wheel. The free function Eyes uses buttons mounted on the steering wheel to access the Siri voice commands, Honda says that reducing distractions while driving. Readout iPhone screen is also off so that drivers are not tempted to look at your device.

2014 Honda Accord Sedan Engine

The base engine is a 2.4-liter “Earth Dreams” direct injection four-cylinder engine that is paired with a six-speed manual transmission or an all-new CVT. The dual overhead cams and Honda i-VTEC system, the engine generates 185 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 181 lb-ft. torque at 3900 rpm. A dual exhaust system available tee shots for 4 ponies, 1 lb-ft. With the CVT, the Agreement is rated at 27/36 mpg (30 mpg combined), while the manual six-speed dents those numbers to 24/34 mpg (28 mpg combined).

A 3.5-liter V6 is optional on higher spec Accords. Equipped with i-VTEC variable valve timing system Honda, the engine is rated at 278 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 252 lb-ft. torque at 4,900 rpm. A six-speed automatic is the only transmission available. Equipped Accord V6 returns 21/34 mpg (25 mpg combined) due to the variable cylinder management that cuts half the cylinders for highway cruising. A new 2014 Honda Accord hybrid equipment 2.0 liter four-cylinder Atkinson cycle efficiently with two electric motors for total system output of 196 horsepower. Due to intelligent engineering, power-train does not require a conventional transmission, and the fuel economy is impressive: 50/45 mpg (47 combined).

All agreements are standard double-length side curtain airbags, plus traction control systems and front, side and frontal stability, brake assist, the electronic brake distribution system and tire pressure monitoring. Available on certain trim levels are a display system blind spot warning and lane change collision warning system.
