The 2013 Audi A7 is a luxury 5-door hatchback, or Sportback in the parlance Audi, slotted between the automaker’s sedan A6 and sedan 2013 Audi A8. The 2013 Audi A7 is available in three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige. the performance-oriented 2013 Audi S7 is discussed in a separate article. 2013 Audi A7 Interior
2013 Audi A7 3.0T Premium equipped with a leather three–zone automatic climate control seats, real wood or aluminum interior trim, to power unroof, heated and 8–way power front seats. The additional standard features include the push–button ignition, universal garage door opener, Bluetooth connectivity and a stereo with iPod / iPhone integration and satellite radio. Under the 2013 Audi A7 Sportback‘s draw and power–operated, the car offers 24.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat.
2013 Audi A7 Optional Features
2013 Audi A7 3.0T Premium Plus model adds a Audi Multi–Media Interface (MMI) navigation system voice–activated with MMI Touch handwriting recognition pad and Audi Connect service. The Audi Connect provides Google Earth navigation maps, Google Local search, and mobile Wi–Fi connection that turns the A7 into a mobile hotspot to eight devices. In addition, the Premium Plus is equipped with a color driver information display, park assist front and rear sensors, camera repairs, auto–dimming side mirrors, Audi Advanced Key entry keyless system, HD Radio, and the 19-inch aluminum wheels.
The 2013 Audi A7 3.0T Prestige provides S–line Exterior styling unique treatment. In addition, the 3.0T Prestige is equipped with 4–zone climate control, heated and air–12 way power front sport seats, wheel power tilt / telescoping steering, LED cabin lighting, adaptive headlights that swivel to help illuminate around corners, headlight washers , and a premium audio system 630–watt Bose.
Main options are grouped into packages. Cold Weather package is available on all three levels of trim, and adds heated rear seats and heated steering wheel. What A7 can be fitted with the Sport package including a unique wheel design, performance summer tires, sport suspension, and the three–spoke steering wheel game with shift paddles. The optional Audi Side Assist package and features of the Audi Side Assist blind–spot monitoring, and power–folding side mirrors, Rear Audi PreSense system that detects if a conflict of rear–end and will automatically readies security systems for impact. Average additional options of the A7 include metallic paint, the side–impact air bags, and a 5 passenger seating option with the rear bench seat instead of the standard bucket seats.
Exclusive to the 2013 Audi A7 3.0T Prestige, the optional Bang & Olufsen audio components boast 1,300 Watts of power and 15 speakers. Pocket Innovation and exclusive to this model, and includes a Driver Assistance package plus head–up display, full LED lights, Lane Active Assist and Corner View Camera and the Night Vision Assistant with Pedestrian Finding technology. With night vision technology, the A7 is approaching a person or animal in the evening, night vision display helps the driver to ‘see’ them from 1,000 feet away. At 300 feet, system provides alert yellow, red and if a person or animal steps into the car, the vibrating switches to red.
2013 Audi A7 Engine
The 2013 Audi A7 is equipped with a supercharged, 3.0–liter V6 engine which generates 310 horsepower between 5,500 to 6,500 rpm and 325 lb. ft. of torque between 2,900 – 4,500 rpm. An Eight–speed automatic transmission and Quattro all–wheel drive (AWD) comes standard, and for 2013 new automatic stop / start technology to help improve fuel economy.
The A7‘s Quattro AWD is equipped with torque vectoring. To help reduce under-steer, the system brakes the wheels during cornering. Quattro also automatically varies the division of power from the standard 40% front and 60% rear distribution, as necessary. Audi Drive Select is also standard on the A7, repair, transmission, engine and steering Calibration comfort, Auto, Dynamic, or settings for each, as determined by the driver. EPA fuel–economy ratings for the 2013 Audi A7 is 18/28/21 mpg (city / highway / combined).
2013 Audi A7 Safety
The 2013 Audi A7 includes 8 standard air bags, including the knee air bags for driver and front passenger seat. Rear–seat side–impact air bags are optional. Additional security features include a system Audi Backguard anti–Whiplash, 4-wheel disc anti–lock brakes with brake assist, stability control, traction control and the wipers and rain–sensing. The Premium Plus trim level adds camera repairs and front and rear park assist sensors, and Prestige trim is equipped with active lights.
Audi Side Assist and Audi Rear PreSense technologies can be added as an option to the 2013 Audi A7. Premium Plus and Prestige trims are offered with adaptive cruise control and Audi PreSense Plus, while the Prestige trim is only available with Lane Active Assist and Corner View feature and the Night Vision Assistant with Pedestrian Finding technology.
