The Audi A8 is full-size, luxury sedan car by the German auto-maker. The Audi following Audi V8 since 1994, in its 3rd generation, the A8 has been offered with either front or permanent all-wheel drive and a temporary variants and long wheelbase. The first two generations of used Volkswagen Group D platform, the current generation from MLB platform.
Notable for the mass-market car with an aluminum chassis, all Audi A8 models have used this approach to development co-developed with Alcoa and marketed as Frame Audi Space. The mechanically-enhanced, high-performance version of the Audi A8 debuted in 1996 as the Audi S8. Produced at Audi’s Neckarsulm plant, unlike the donor Audi A8 model, the Audi S8 has only short-wheelbase form and included in the standard Audi and quattro all-wheel drive system.
Audi A8 Ist Generation
In 1982, Ferdinand Piëch signed an agreement with Aluminum Company of America. The aim is to design and develop the car can be much lighter than any of the other cars in its class.
