The 2019 McLaren Senna is a supersport car manufactured by McLaren Automotive to replace the P1 and pay homage to Ayrton Senna, which, takes the name of the legendary three-time world champion Formula 1 to baptize his ultimate weapon. The British firm has taken its most radical registered car out of its sleeve, and even though its sole objective is to destroy chronometers, this two-seater is approved for public roads.
McLaren engine produced around 800 HP and that it would be the street version and the GTR version, besides that it announced a part of the rear part and that it would not have a hybrid system like the P1. McLaren contains the rights to the Senna surname with the Ayrton Senna Institute. The organization and McLaren have made Senna’s name exclusive to this sports car, prohibiting all other companies from using the name.
2019 McLaren Senna Features
For the chassis, we use a Monocage III carbon fiber monocoque that evolves on the basis of the McLaren 720S but its stiffness is significantly increased to become the stiffer chassis that McLaren 2019 has ever created for a street car. Continuing with this obsession to reduce the weight to the minimum, the carbon fiber is spread out by each and every one of the panels that make up your body. So much so that with 1,198 kg dry gets to be the McLaren homologado lighter since the appearance of the mythical McLaren F1. It will be the last car of the ULTIMATE SERIES.
The technology used in the Senna can relatively appease the fury of the engine with three driving modes: Comfort, Sport or Track. In addition, the RaceActive Chassis Control II regulates the behavior of the chassis through the hydraulic suspension and acts on the active aerodynamics to vary the stiffness and the behavior of the car. The suspensions also incorporate a Race mode that reduces the height of the assembly to the minimum to bring the center of gravity to the ground and hardens to the maximum its behavior to turn like a table in each curve.
2019 McLaren Senna Design
The aerodynamic functionality undergoes extreme forms with an extremely radical body, designed to keep the car stuck to the ground. All the lines have an aerodynamic mission and the extreme silhouette is enhanced by transparent panels on the doors that further lighten the view of the car. It also incorporates a new generation of active aerodynamics both in the front and rear to increase the downforce and improve control according to the moment.
The rear is even designed to trap the hot air leaving the engine with a low-pressure zone that sucks excess temperature while not interfering with the operation of the huge rear spoiler. Continuing with the rear, the double rear diffuser is made of a single piece of carbon fiber that keeps the car bolted to the asphalt. The aileron is also double height and represents the highest point of the vehicle, with a height of 1,219 mm. This huge piece is mobile by a hydraulic drive and in total adds a surface of 0.65 m² and has an airbrake function.
In the cabin, there is a sound system, a central screen, speed console in the center and a console on the roof that includes the start button. Behind the carbon fiber steering wheel, a minimalist digital control panel forces you to concentrate on driving. Apart from this and the carbon fiber seats, there is nothing. Not even storage space aside from a small gap located behind the rear seats just as to carry two helmets and circuit monkeys.
2019 McLaren Senna Engine
The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine is similar to those we already knew about the brand but it evolves to eject 800 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque against the rear wheels and be the most powerful internal combustion street McLaren of the brand. The transmission used in this supercar is a double clutch of seven speeds that can be used either in fully automatic mode or by pressing the cams that are located on the back of the steering wheel. The sound of intake and exhaust has been taken care of by McLaren engineers to create a totally immersive feeling, enhanced by poor acoustic insulation. The roar of this engine has to make your hair stand on end just by pressing the start button and notice how the vibrations connect the engine to the pilot.
2019 McLaren Senna GTR
The 2019 GTR uses a dual-clutch transmission for faster gear changes, a revised suspension system and Pirelli race tires to make it the fastest vehicle other than Formula One that McLaren has created for faster lap times. It is estimated that the 2019 Senna GTR produces at least 825 hp (814 hp, 607 kW) of its V8 dual-turbo engine 4.0 Ly is destined to be faster and more agile than its counterpart on the road, it also promises to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 2.8 seconds. On the outside, the GTR uses wider front and rear mudguards, a larger front splitter, new wheels and a larger rear diffuser for the car to generate approximately 2,204 lb (1,000 kg) of downforce, the body will still be manufactured with carbon fiber and based on the carbon fiber Monocage III chassis. The 2019 McLaren Senna GTR will be limited to only 75 examples and will cost £ 1 million each, its production will start from 2019.
