2018 Acura MDX Engine
The Acura 2018 MDX model is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 that delivers 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque and comes with a nine speed automatic gearbox. The front-wheel drive engine delivers an EPA rated 20/27 mpg city / highway with car start / stop function and 19/27 mpg without it. With the All-Wheel Drive (AWD), the MDX delivers 19/26 mpg with auto start / stop and 18/26 mpg without it. In the Motor Trend test, the 2018 Acura MDX AWD hit 60 mph in 6.2 seconds and stopped from 60 mph in 121 feet, both respectful numbers for a three-row crossover.
The 2018 MDX Sport Hybrid is standard with AWD and is equipped with a hybrid train consisting of a 3.0-liter V-6 connected to an electric motor for a total 321 hp system and 289 pounds of torque . The hybrid train is supported by a seven-speed dual-coupler transmission and delivers an impressive 26/27 mpg.
