The 2017 Seat Leon is a compact class car manufactured by SEAT, Volkswagen AG, since 1998. The 2017 Seat Leon model ranks in size through the little Seat Ibiza and the larger SEAT Toledo. The first model debuted in 1999 and saw the appearance like a Seat Toledo with shortened rear, which in practice was also. Leon was meant as a sportier alternative and was offered thus generally more powerful engines than the other Seat -models. The initial model was a 1.4-liter engine with only 75 horsepower. The strongest version was Cupra with its 225 horsepower and all-wheel drive from the Swedish Haldex.
In 2005 was presented the second generation, which was to become the second SEAT model, the Altea, with its new design profile signed Walter de’Silva. This is also in Capra version, as well as in a version marked FR. The latter means either a turbo diesel engine of 170 horsepower, or a direct injection petrol engine of 200 horsepower. Common to these is an equipment package containing spoilers, larger wheels, and the sportier interior. Since 2006 is also a special version only for the Swedish market, called Rickard Rydell, with a special cosmetic design and a 2.0-liter direct injection TFSI engine with 185 horsepower. This engine is also available in another version, called the SportUp.
2017 Seat Leon Supercopa
Seat hosted the brand Seat Leon Supercopa in Germany, which first took place at the Beru Top10 weekend and later in the supporting program of the DTM. One season consisted of eight race events with one free practice, one qualification training and two 30 minute escalations. Only “Supercopa” Seat Leons were allowed to be used.
The race car had a 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produced 300 hp. There were 24 cars regularly participating in the race. In addition, there was a changing VIP driver. Other series of this name have existed in Spain, Italy, and France. In the United Kingdom, the Seat Cupra Championship featured a series of Seat Leon Cupra cars. In Hungary and Turkey championships were also played under the title Seat Leon Cup.
2017 Seat Leon Eurocup
From 2008 to 2010, the Seat Leon Eurocup, which was part of the WTCC, was also staged. In the years 2008 and 2009 the respective weekend winners were placed at the WTCC race weekend at the wheel of a private team of the team Sunred Engineering. In 2010 there was instead a prize money. And the vehicles were also technically improved, so the cars now had a new electronic shift control, which made 2017 Seat Leon the gear changes faster and gentler.
