The 2017 Ferrari 458 is a sports car from the Italian manufacturer Ferrari. The 458 is the successor of the Ferrari F430 and was presented to the public at the IAA in September 2009. According to data from the Federal Motor Vehicle Authority, 458 Ferrari 458s were registered in Germany in the same number, 252 of them by commercial owners.

The China Special Edition based on the coupé version of the 2017 Ferrari 458 is a special model for the 20th anniversary of Ferrari in China. Since 2012 was the year of the dragon in China, all 20 copies of the China Special Edition received a complex design consisting of the special finish Marco Polo Red and black-golden embellishments.

The Ferrari Sergio is based on the Ferrari 458 Spider and retains its technical equipment. The special model is limited to only six copies and uses the latest version of the V8 naturally aspirated engine with a displacement of 4.497 cm³, which, like the 458 Speciale, achieves 605 hp. The shapes and surface finishes of the Ferrari Sergio capture the spirit of Pininfarina creations of the 1960s and 1970s. Ferrari did not announce the price for this Sergio. For Eric Clapton a Ferrari 458 was equipped with a special body. The 2017 Ferrari 458, design is inspired by the Ferrari 512 BB and designed by Pininfarina.

According to a report by Spiegel Online, in September 2010 all 1248 vehicles of this series were recalled. After several carriages had been set on fire, investigations showed that an adhesive can ignite under high heat. In at least four cases since July 2010, wagons were completely burnt out for this reason.

The Bruttolistenpreis for the market launch amounted to 197,000 euro without extras. The selection options regarding colors, seats and interior fittings were increased again compared to the F430. The bodies are now available in olive green as well as the brake calipers in gold color.

This Ferrari is offered exclusively with the 7-speed 7DCL750 double clutch transmission from the manufacturer Getrag, which is also installed in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Can be switched in automatic mode or alternatively manually in the sports program. In addition to a dry sump, Ferrari 458 has an active differential and weighs 128 kg. The V8 suction motor, which is arranged as a center motor, operates with direct injection. The chassis has a double crossbar at the front, and a multiple steering wheel at the rear. The electronic vehicle dynamics control system interlinks the ABS, the electronically controlled differential gearbox and the traction control. The Ferrari is delivered on 20-inch light alloy rims with 235/35 tires at the front and 295/35 at the rear axle.

In August 2011, Ferrari presented the Spider variant of the 458. It differs from the 458 Italia model mainly by an aluminum roof that can be lowered under the engine hood, which opens or closes in 14 seconds. The Ferrari 458 Spider is 50 kilograms heavier than the Coupe variant. The drive of the 458 Spider is identical to that of the 458 Italia.

On August 20, 2013, Ferrari announced in a press release that the Ferrari 458 Speciale will be presented there on September 12th in the run-up to the International Automobile Exhibition in Frankfurt. The model is based on the 458 Italia, but it is distinguished by its sporty features.
