2017 Audi RS6 is the sportiest version of the popular Audi A6, a higher middle-class car from German car manufacturer Audi. Audi RS6 2017 model has to compete with the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class AMG. The RS6 is produced by Quattro GmbH, which is also responsible for the Audi R8 and the other Audi RS models. The designation “RS” stands for “Renn Sport”, Audi’s highest model line that is still positioned above the “S” (“Sports”) models.
The first generation Audi RS6 came on the market in May 2002 and was available as sedan (Limousine) and stationary (Avant). The car has a 4.2-liter biturbo V8 engine with a power of 450 hp. The RS6 was stronger than its direct competitors, the BMW E39 M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG. The third generation RS 6 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2013, this version, as opposed to previous generations, was built exclusively as Avant.
There is a select group of 2017 Audi RS 6 users. For example, to North America, only 1,200 shipped. However, the Audi RS6 turned out to be more successful than initially thought, Audi estimated production at about 6,000 models, but the counter remained after 8.081 only afterwards.
The 2017 RS6 has standard 19 inch wheels, 18 inch was optional. The Audi RS6 is recognizable by the two oval exhaust pipes, widened wheelchairs and the black honeycomb grille, which is typical of Audi’s RS models. The front bumper is also enlarged and the RS6 Limousine has a small spoiler on the boot lid. Furthermore, inside the car on the steering wheel and on the seats and outside on the compartment cover and in the grill the “RS6” logo.
2017 Audi RS6 Engine
The third generation RS 6 features a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine, known from the S6 of this generation. In the RS 6 it delivers a power of 560 hp and a torque of 700 Nm. Later that year, the engine would find its way to the RS 7 with the same specifications. The engine is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission of ZF. The reason that Audi’s own S tronic machine was not chosen is because it is not up to the high torque that the engine produces.
