2017 Acura RDX is a small, luxury SUV, Acura may be the underdog today in a luxury sedan, but it is the buyer exactly what they want with the 2017 Acura RDX and 2017 Acura MDX greater. The new 2017 Acura RDX includes a strong powertrains, quiet cabins, and impressive safety and just the right amount of versatility and practical to make one of the best balanced picks in the segment, for those who are balancing the usual mix of sometimes conflicting priorities.
The Acura RDX designed as a more pragmatic model for 2013, then just refresh last year with a few new features and some styling nips and tucks. Overall, the styling is smooth, with an attractive profile and pronounced fender arches. The headlights are now a string of five LEDs, lined up in a row like diamonds on a wedding ring. The front-end appearance a little less mouth-like, and LED front and rear lighting helps give the design rights finer finish. For 2017, several new colors is the most significant change in the starting lineup.
2017 Acura RDX Design
The 2017 Acura RDX is hardly brash, daring, or overtly sexy, but it is an attractive vehicle inside and out, and certainly worthy of its luxury nameplate. In his profile, the RDX is not dramatically different from other compact crossovers, with its tantalizing combination of smooth contours and sharp details. The roofline is low and arrow, for a smart attitude. And last year’s blast has some of the details-especially in front-a little more in line with the rest of the Acura lineup.
The most typical view is always from the front, but with distinction comes with a catch. Some do not like the bright grille a foot looks, albeit more on the SUV as similar to the sedan. Last year, the appearance of a minor update, with new wheels, a new (somewhat less jaw-like) grille and new LED headlights. In return, LED has designed a light pipe.
Form and function are fairly well balanced, with two-tone designs bows slightly to the driver and front passenger, with a central pod of control in between drops over a horizontal BELTLINE running across the middle. Center controls are positioned a little in the direction of the driver, but otherwise the design is mostly symmetrical. If anything, the appearance hinges a bit too much on brightwork-it may be a bit on the bland side feel without all the chrome bezels.
2017 Acura RDX Interior
The cabin of the 2017 RDX is just the right mix of elegant and formal merged with sporty; and that pretty much describes the mixed priorities that you will find in this crossover. It is beautiful inside finish with controls that are easy to operate and does not irritate. Seats are comfortable, and the cabin is generally very quiet-although a bit stiff back seat and rear seats do not add completely fold flat to a vehicle that will definitely make some compromises for its compact footprint and overall roofline. Front seats in the RDX has rich bolsters and eight-way adjustable driver. To adjust steering column slopes and telescopes at different size drivers, and there is enough space for large and / or high.
The interior provides small-item storage Cubbies and drums. There are storage doors and the center console can 23 CD cases-as keeping still means nothing and there is a little shelf above it ideal for a mobile phone with a power outlet in the center console for loading. A smaller covered storage space in front of the shifter can also have a mobile phone and includes a USB port, an audio input port, and a power outlet. There is a tray in the glove box, and the back of the center console has a small shelf for back-seat riders. Last year, the RDX has been updated with more silver and black trim, heated front seats and second-row air conditioning vents.
2017 Acura RDX Engine
While most compact crossovers now exclusively powered by turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, the 2017 Acura RDX do things very differently. It comes standard with a new 3.5-liter V-6 engine. The engine makes 279 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque, and RDX to react sharply and quickly to a prod of the accelerator. It is a smooth and refined piece, working together quite well with the 6-speed automatic transmission, and it is very responsive to all engine speeds-even if it sometimes hesitate when it’s cold in a test car.
