The 2014 Ferrari California is offering the highest performance of the brand, nor is it the most beautiful. But it makes a strong claim to be the most practical and that’s a wonderful thing to be a Ferrari. The standard features include navigation in California, USB connections, and even unthinkable cup holders. For those with a taste for more, Ferrari is open to customization of California through its various programs. Last year, it added a new selection of colors for the 5000 triple layer tones already offered.
2014 Ferrari California Eexterior
The exterior styling 2014 Ferrari California is, after several years on the market, leaving a bit behind the latest signals and strains of the new Ferrari models, but still has a great and clear brand statement. The long, flowing lines, arched fenders, curved sides and all complement the classic roadster proportions. Inside, the California is very similar to its newer siblings, with a careful blend of leather, metal and plastic exposed in typically exuberant, but purposeful fashion Ferrari.
2014 Ferrari California Engine
2014 Ferrari California Power is a powerful 4.3-liter V-8 rated at 490 horsepower and 373 pound-feet of torque motor. Before 2013, California was rated at 460 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque. With the additional power, California now accelerates to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and hits the top speed of 193 mph.
Handling is as would expect from a Ferrari, pretty impressive, at least to about 9/10ths. Pushing the boundaries is not in the repertoire of the California, as it is tuned for comfort and practicality more feats of speed via lists. Still, a special package, packaging is available for those who want a little more edge, and even 9/10ths, California is incredibly fast.
2014 Ferrari California Convertible
As a convertible hardtop, California’s cabin blends the best of worlds roadster and coupe, with a well built, solid feel on the inside that is not typical for Ferrari. Seat room is good from the beginning, but the two rear-seats are best reserved for children or additional equipment. The trunk provides just enough space, but not quite roomy. The retractable hardtop works smoothly and quickly, the opening and closing in about 15 seconds. The pop-up rollover protection system 2014 Ferrari California is standard and the rearview camera backup is available.
