The 2014 Audi A8 Quattro is a luxury sedan all-wheel -drive is offered in regular and long wheelbase versions, the latter identified by an L plate and awarded an additional 5 inches of rear legroom. The Trim levels include 3.0T, 3.0TL, 3.0 L TDI, 4.0T and L W12 4.0TL. Each designation corresponds to the type of wheelbase and engine. The high-performance Audi S8 is reviewed separately.

Standard features for the 3.0T base include 19-inch wheels, adaptive xenon headlights, LED running lights, sunroof, adaptive air suspension, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming, power folding mirrors, heated 12- way adjustable front seats with driver memory, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, aluminum and wood interior trim, power rear visor, trunk lid and doors electrically operated soft close. Electronic properties in the cabin include keyless ignition, navigation system, rearview camera, electronic interface for Audi MMI with Voice Control, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and a Bose surround sound system with CD player and iPod interface. Although the A8 3.0T is well equipped, there are a number of options available. With the package you get the warm climate control of four climate zones, along with power rear side window sunshades. An Extended Leather package wrapped armrests, center console and steering wheel airbag cover in leather. In model L 3.0T long battle, the warm weather package, extended leather package interior and piano black inlays are included as standard.

For any of wheelbase, the 3.0T buyers can choose to add the Premium Package, which includes 22 -way comfort -contour front seats with ventilation and pneumatic massage, full LED headlights, a warning system and blind spot system rear collision mitigation. A Cold Weather package adds a heated steering wheel, ski bag for the rear seat rear seat pass-through and heated. A deluxe package includes a faux suede lining, leather upholstery and upgraded dual pane glass. The rear seat Comfort Plus package includes a five-passenger configuration with separate rear with ventilation and massage side power seats and front passenger seat adjustment from rear seat.

A8 For a sportier, the Sport Plus package an air suspension sport adapted, adaptable direction and limited-slip rear differential is applied. Finally, the package includes a driver assistance system first view parking camera, adaptive cruise control, a system lane departure warning, the deluxe version Pre -Sense Plus Collision Warning Audi and the braking system and automatic high beam control. The L W12 prestige level is essentially a four-seat version fully loaded long wheelbase model that is driven by a 12-cylinder engine. Includes all the features listed above, except adaptive cruise control (prevention system and most advanced collision that comes with it), solar sunroof, premium Bang & Olufsen audio and night vision camera-all of which options still stand-alone. Also note that the 2014 Audi A8 L W12 rolls on 20-inch wheels and comes with standard adaptive direction. Optional Rear Seat Comfort is the Executive package. Includes a rear seat with a footrest relaxation engine, a seat 10-way power passenger a refrigerated cooler and an outlet of 115 volts.

2014 Audi A8 Interior

All this power is channeled through an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. In the tests, a 3.0T L long wheelbase with optional Sport Plus package accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, which is faster than all V6- powered competitors and just below the engine V8 packing.

Also standard on the V6 is a function of stop-start that shuts off the engine when the car stops. In testing, a 4.0T A8 L ran to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. The EPA estimates 4.0T should earn 17 mpg city/28 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined, or nearly same as supercharged V6. The 4.0TL is only slightly thirstier at 16/26/19 mpg.

2014 Audi A8 comes with the 6.3-liter W12 engine only comes in long-wheelbase configuration. The 12-cylinder engine that makes 500 horsepower and 463 pound- feet of torque.
