2013 Chevrolet Sonic Optional Features
The upgrade to the LT trim adds Bluetooth streaming audio, satellite radio, premium sound, cruise control, electric windows, electric mirrors, alloy wheels, and more. The 2013 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ adjustment includes leatherette upholstery, Chevy MyLink radio color touchscreen, and heated front seats 17-inch wheels. The new Sonic RS model includes a stiffer suspension that rides 10 mm lower than other models of Sonic and brakes, 4 wheel drive, unique style and trim, and leather seats.
2013 Chevrolet Sonic Engine
Standard on all versions of the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, except for the RS model is a 4-cylinder engine of 1.8 liters. It has been configured to generate 138 horsepower and powers the front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic transmission. Chevy says 90% of peak 125 pounds–feet of torque available from 2400-6500 rpm. A turbo, 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine is available for 2013 Chevrolet Sonic LT and LTZ trim, and comes standard on the Sonic RS. It also generates 138 horsepower, but has more torque at 148 lb-ft from 1850-4900 rpm. Buyers can select a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Every 2013 Chevrolet Sonic is equipped with 10 standard air bags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution and brake assist, traction control and stability, and 6 months of complimentary OnStar Automatic Crash Response included. However, the structurally identical 2012 model received an overall rating crash test 5 (of 5) stars from the NHTSA. In addition, the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic was named “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
