The 5.3–liter V–8 engine creates 315 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 335 lb. ft. of torque at 4,400 rpm. Active Fuel Management, the cylinder–deactivation, helps conserve fuel, and the engine is also E85–compatible. A automatic transmission 6-speed is standard. A powerful engine 6.2–liter V–8 generating 403 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 417 lb. ft. of torque at 4,300 rpm. This engine is also E85–compatible, and is equipped with automatic transmission 6-speed. Payload capacity ranges from 1,513 pounds to 1,937 pounds subject to the CAB, the bed, and Driveline configuration. Trailer tow capacity ranges from 8,900 pounds to 10,700 pounds (7,000 pounds for the Silverado XFE).
