The 2017 Subaru BZR STI is featured trim of 2017 Subaru BZR STI for 2017 model, initially was developed as sports coupe from Toyota and Subaru. Subaru BZR is also manufactured at the factory Subaru’s Gunma, Japan. In the United States, the 2017 Subaru BZR is available in two trim levels, Premium and 2017 Subaru BZR Limited, with the latter more standard equipment.

The 2017 Subaru BZR STI is primarily designed to provide exceptional handling capabilities function, much like the highly regarded Toyota Corolla compact sport of the 1980s. Subaru BZR is built on a light RWD platform with a low-down Subaru flat-four engine to allow for a low center of gravity. The inspiration for the exterior design is taken from the side profile of the Toyota 2000GT, a highly coveted grand tourer of the 1960s.

Worldwide, Subaru BZR is sold under different model names and brands like the Toyota GT86 and the North America-only Scion FR-S, although each model sold to small differences between each. Subaru BZR is sold worldwide under three different brands with different model names:

Toyota 86 in Asia, South Africa, North America (from August 2016), South America and Australia, GT86 in Europe, both of the last names in New Zealand; FT86 in Nicaragua and Jamaica.

Scion FR-S in the US and Canada. After the brand Scion was discontinued in August 2016, the FR-S renamed the 86.
