The new 2017 Porsche 911 is a two-door 2+2 sports car made since 1963 by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. Porsche 911 had a rear-mounted six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine and all-around the independent suspension. It undergoes constant development, although the basic concept remains little changed. 2017 Porsche 911 engines are air-cooled until the introduction of Type 996 in 1998, with Porsche’s “993” series, in model years 1995-1998, being the last of the air-cooled Porsche.

The 911 has been modified by private teams and the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of motor competition. This is one of the most successful competition cars. In the mid-1970s, naturally aspirated 911 Carrera RSRs won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring, and Nürburgring, even against prototypes. The 911-derived 935 turbo also 24 hours of Le Mans in 1979.

In the 1999 international poll for the award of Car of the Century, the 911 fifth. It is one of two in the top five that constantly remained in production and was until 1998 a successful surviving application of the air-cooled opposed rear engine layout pioneered by his father, the Volkswagen Beetle. It is one of oldest sports coupe nameplates still in production, and 820,000 were by the car’s 50th-anniversary sale in 2013. “Some 150,000 911 cars from model years 1964 to 1989 are still on the road today.”

The 911 debuted in the 1960s and remains on the roof of the car to do while staying true to its roots as the quintessential sports car. A keen behind mounted 370 hp, 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six powers the rear wheels; S models make 420 hp. A seven-speed manual transmission is standard; all-wheel drive and seven-speed dual-clutch automated options. In the coupe, convertible and Targa form, the 911 is as luxurious as it is sure-footed, making even feel beginners and racing legends.
