2017 Audi RS5 Design

The 2017 RS5’s line-up of the original Quattro is based on the Audi A5, which was designed by Walter Maria de’Silva. Compared to the variants of the Audi A5, the RS model adjoins the engine and transmission by the following external including modified front and rear bumper bars, no front fog lamps, but air intakes in the front apron, radiator grille in Rautendesign, Widened front and rear fender, side skirts, round fuel filler flap, exterior mirrors in aluminum design, body details like radiator grille in matte aluminum look, two oval tailpipes, a retractable rear spoiler (from 120 km / h automatic). In the interior, among other things, leather trim, carbon trim strips, a sports leather steering wheel and seats, aluminum-style pedals as well as various RS5 letterings are standard.

2017 Audi RS5 Engine

The engine is based on the V8 high-speed engine of the RS4, compared to this, the power of the V8 engine in the RS5 could be raised by 22 kW (30 hp) and is reached at over 8000 rpm. The torque of 430 Nm remained unchanged but is available in a speed range of 4000 to 6000 rpm.

The 2017 Audi RS5 has a well-developed version of the unblown V8 engine known from the previous RS4 and the R8, this high-speed engine delivers 30 hp more, bringing the total to 450 hp at 8250 rpm. The maximum torque is 430 Nm, which is available between 4000 and 6000 rpm. The engine’s inlet system is slid so that it can breathe more freely, and now has a double inlet. The engine in the Audi RS4 often did not get its power because he did not get enough air.

For the time being, the RS5 standard comes with a 7-speed S tronic dual-coupler. Whether a handbrake six-speed gearbox is available later is not known. The Quattro four-wheel drive is traditionally standard on the 2017 Audi RS5 and can optionally be equipped with the new sports differential, known as the Audi S4.
