The 2014 Acura ILX Sedan is a compact entry-level luxury sedan that shares a platform with the Honda Civic. The 2014 Acura ILX offers a lot more standard equipment than Civic and can be equipped with exclusive features not available for Honda. Because of the 2014 Acura ILX relatively low price, it has no direct competitors, but this segment is heating up with the addition of the redesigned Audi A3 entry-level BMW 320i with a reduced price, and the Mercedes-Benz CLA250.

2014 Acura ILX Sedan Features

2014 Acura ILX Sedan offers standard and hybrid series. Details of the 2014 ILX Hybrid will be available in autumn 2013. For 2014, non-hybrid versions get several latest features as standard equipment, including 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery with leather door panel trim the heated front seats, 8 way power driver’s seat, multi-angle rear-view camera, sub-woofer audio system, and the Active Noise Cancellation technology. These features join the standard equipment highlights including dual-zone climate control with air filtration and humidity control, key-less access and the push button ignition, the sunroof and more. The ILX also comes standard with a 360-watt audio system with 7 speakers, satellite radio, Bluetooth with music playback and SMS text messaging capabilities, USB and iPod connectivity and a Pandora Internet radio interface.

The 2014 Acura ILX is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 150 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at the 4300 rpm. the 5-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is standard with this engine, which drives the car’s wheels. The optional 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine generates 201 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 170 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm. Its offered only with the 6 speed manual transmission.

Acura sells ILX Hybrid, but says it will release information on the 2014 version of the model at a later time. Last year Acura ILX Hybrid paired a 1.5 liter,  4 cylinder gasoline engine with an electric assist motor and a lithium-ion battery to develop a combined 111 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 127 Nm of torque between 1,000 rpm and 3,500 rpm. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters come standard for 2014 Acura ILX Hybrid.

The 5-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is standard with this engine, which drives the car’s wheels. The optional 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine generates 201 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 170 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm. It is offered only with the 6-speed manual transmission.

Acura sells 2014 Acura ILX Sedan, but says it will release information on the 2014 version of the model at a later time. 2014 Acura ILX Sedan Security

For 2014, the ILX equipped with a multi-angle rear-view camera as standard. Last year it was an optional upgrade over a simple standard camera. Technological options for this model include Song by Voice remembers from a 15GB music hard drive and a GPS-linked solar -sensing climate control system that can increase or decrease the heat and cold, depending on the sun angle and the direction of travel.
