The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is a 5-passenger luxury SUV midsize, sold as the ML350, ML350 BlueTEC, ML550, and ML63 AMG performance-oriented. Options for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class are mainly grouped into several packages. The driver assistance package includes Distronic Plus active cruise control with Pre-Safe Brake, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Assist. The Control Package offers simpler versions of Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist and Distronic Plus with Pre leaves Segura-Brake on the factory floor. The lighting package includes bi-xenon headlamps with Active Curve lighting, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, cornering lights and headlamp washers.

The Parktronic with Active Park Assist system provides front and rear park assist sensors and can identify suitably sized parallel parking spaces and automatically steer the M-Class in space, while the driver operates the pedals. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 is equipped with the generation of a V-6 engine 3.5-liter 302 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 273 lb-ft of torque between 3,500 rpm and 5,250 rpm. A 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is standard, driving the rear wheels of the ML350. A 4 wheel drive 4Matic system is optional. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 BlueTec 4Matic is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6 that produces 240 horsepower at 3,600 rpm, 455 lb-ft of torque between 1,600 to 2,400 rpm. It also features a 7-speed automatic comes standard with 4Matic 4WD.

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML550 4Matic offers a V-8 engine 4.6-liter that delivers 402 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque direct injection, twin-turbo. A 7-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic 4WD is standard on this model.

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Classis equipped with a long list of standard safety features. Nine airbags, traction control and stability with trailer stabilization, assistant output and 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with automatic brake drying and predictive brake priming are included in the base price. The attention Assist is also standard, which is able to detect the drowsy driver and recommend taking a break through visual and audible measures.

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is also equipped with Pre-Safe and Post-Safe technology. The optional Distronic Plus system with Pre-Safe Brake uses radar units to maintain brakes automatically, and speed automatically in traffic, while the Pre-Safe brake automatically activates the brakes at maximum power if the system determines that a collision is about to occur.

Two levels of Blind Spot Assist and Lane Assist technology are also optional. Active Lane Change Assist identifies when the 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is moved out of its lane and selectively braking the wheels to get back into the lane planned, while Active Blind Spot takes corrective action if the driver ignores warnings that no vehicles in the adjacent lane. Alternatively, the non-active versions of these systems are offered.
