Ford sells the 2013 Ford Explorer in, XLT and Limited trim levels and Sport. Each has a unique look, and 2013 Ford Explorer XLT benefit from a Chrome Grill and fog lights, the Limited adds body-color trim and larger aluminum wheels, and Sport featuring a grill blacked-out wheels. The 2013 Ford Explorer includes the standard front and rear air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power side mirrors, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control and stereo 6-speaker CD player with auxiliary jack input an audio.

Depending on the trim level selected, 2013 Ford Explorer can be equipped with seats in the skin, the Sync hands-free connection, MyFord Touch infotainment system, Active Park Assist, premium audio system Sony, navigation system, rear DVD player with two headrest screens, Intelligent Access with push button start, power lift-gate, power-folding third-row seat, and more.

2013 Ford Explorer Engine

All 2013 Ford Explorer trims, equipped with a standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine that makes 290 horsepower. A turbocharged engine, the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder is optional, generating 240 horsepower. The new Explorer Sport is equipped with the same engine Taurus Sho, a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 preliminarily rated upto 350 horsepower and 350 lb. ft. of torque. A automatic transmission 6-speed standard on all Explorer trims 2013, and includes paddle shifters on the new Explorer Sport. Front-wheel drive (FWD) and standard 4-wheel drive (4WD) with Terrain and Vegetation Management System control and hill-descent is optional for all trims except Sport, which has standard 4WD.

2013 Ford Explorer Safety

The 2013 Ford Explorer gains knee air bags for front passenger, making a total of seven air bag count. In addition, the Explorer is equipped with standard anti-lock brakes, traction and the stability control with roll stability control, trailer sway control, control on a curve, hill-start assist, SOS Post Crash Alert and the MyKey programmable safety features. The 2013 Ford Explorer optional safety features include Sync with 911 Assist, camera repairs, tree-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and collision warning with the support of arrest, and inflatable rear seat belts.
